Extract: Catherine Ordway is a highly respected sports lawyer, academic, and Board Director with experience as a Senior Executive in the Australian Public Service and with national and international anti-doping programs. She has lived and worked in Europe and the Middle East for 5 years and is highly sought after by National Anti-Doping Organisations, countries bidding to host Summer or Winter Olympic Games; and to assist organisations with strengthening integrity on sport programs. Catherine is also regularly requested to present at conferences and seminars, and to comment in the media on these topics.

Catherine co-founded the Women On Boards (WOB) network to improve the gender balance on all Australian corporate and not-for-profit Boards. It now has almost 15,000 subscribers from all sectors and industries including rural, mining, and the public service. The network has many qualified, female executives from legal, financial, IT, sales and marketing, human resources, business development and project management backgrounds who are looking for a Board career. WOB has recently expanded into the UK and regularly holds education seminars in Asia.

Catherine has a Bachelor of Arts (Jurisprudence) and Law from the University of Adelaide; a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice with the University of South Australia; and a Graduate Diploma in Investigations Management from Charles Sturt University. She has been admitted as a solicitor in the High Court, South Australia, the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales. Catherine is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Canberra in sports management and completing her PhD in governance, leadership and sports integrity.

  • Brazilian Olympic Award, as one of the consultants contributing to the IOC awarding hosting rights to Rio for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games

  • Represented WADA at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games as part of the WADA Outreach team.
  • Represented WADA at the 2007 Rio Pan-American Games as a WADA Independent Observer.
